The series is about bringing diverse cultures together to create a dramedy that breaks stereotypes about the multiracial and multigenerational youth of today and change the narrative around marijuana with some sweet and savory marijuana-induced, baked goods from both the Indian and American heritage on the streets of the educational hub of the world, Boston.

WHY DO WE WANT TO MAKE THIS ?

Highbread.jpg

"After moving to Boston, I understood the uniqueness of the student culture in the US. I felt welcomed and loved, but noticed that South Asians were generally stereotyped as either doctors, engineers, cab drivers or 7/11 attendants. My existence, as an Indian individual studying film, perplexed many. Through campus-wide surveys, I recognized the need for a more wholesome representation of the South Asian community. Further personal interactions and experiences compelled me to dive deeper and create a world where not just South Asians, but all ethnicities were brought closer to each other. In doing so, I'd attempt to shed light on everyday and personal problems faced by people of diverse backgrounds. As a person of color, it's my responsibility to make something that culturally brings people closer and breaks racial and gender characterizations. I am suitable to tell this story because of my personal attachment to the cause, my passion for the material and my experience as a

skilled international filmmaker. With cannabis legalized in the states of Massachusetts, new stores are opening up across the state. It's only a matter of time before a cannabis bakery opens in the student hub of the world, Boston. A show about one such bakery run by three individuals from different races, in a city which hosts 108 universities, is bound to strike a chord with today’s audiences. Not only will HighBread entertain, but it will also offer a glance into the lives and struggles of the multigenerational and multiracial youth of today."    JAYESH JAIDKA ,CREATOR
